Information
for Developers
As you have probably already figured out, Gamma
GenCat is a very powerful tool because of its ability to create catalogs
based on user designed templates. As designers, you are in position
to use GenCat with templates provided by Gamma Burst or to create
customized templates for your clients. The choice is yours.
Whether you choose to design a custom template
for a client or for one of then Gamma Burst Template
Design Contests, you need to know how to create the files needed
for a complete and correct template. You also need to know how to
use our Quick And Dirty Interpreter
(aka: QADI - pronounced: kaddy). This interpreter is built into
GenCat and reads the scripts you place in your template files whenever
a catalog is generated with your template.
The best place to begin is probably by looking
at the files of the templates that are included with GenCat. Any
template that comes from Gamma Burst, whether in the installation
package or by download, has been tested and certified by our expert
staff. These will always prove to be the most reliable resources.
After the initial release of Gamma GenCat,
there will be more resources placed in this space on how to create
Gamma GenCat templates. Please stay tuned!
